According to Jonathan Swan at Axios, Donald Trump is trashing Ron DeSantis in private as an ingrate with a “dull personality” and no realistic chance of beating him in a potential 2024 showdown, according to sources who’ve recently talked to the former president about the Florida governor.
“The source, who shared the private remarks on the condition of anonymity, has heard Trump criticize DeSantis on multiple occasions. The source said Trump makes a point of saying he isn’t worried about the Florida governor as a potential 2024 rival,” Swan wrote over the weekend regarding the so-called source’s allegations.
Jonathan Swan wrote the unidentified “source” asserted that 45th President Donald Trump said of Florida Governor Ron DeSanitis: “He says DeSantis has no personal charisma and has a dull personality”.
“A second source who’s discussed DeSantis with Trump said the reason for the former president’s irritation with the popular governor is ‘that Ron DeSantis won’t say he won’t run [in 2024]. … The others have stated pretty clearly they won’t challenge him’, Swan alleged in an article titled: Trump dogs “dull” DeSantis ahead of potential 2024 matchup.
A spokesman for Trump did not comment when presented with this reporting. DeSantis also did not respond to a request for comment,” Mr. Swan reported.
Following Axios’ report with unnamed “sources”, Arizona State Senator Wendy Rogers (R) released a statement after leftwing publications mirrored Swan’s reporting. Continued Below
“Trump would mop the floor with [Governor Ron DeSantis] in 2024 – including in Florida. Take a lesson from Mike Pence – hero to zero in less than 24 hours,” Senator Wendy Rogers wrote on Twitter Tuesday.
“DeSantis needs to get on board with President Trump NOW or will be seen as a Benedict Arnold & his political career will be over,” she recommended.
The Arizona lawmaker also provided a list of actions Governor DeSantis “need to” do. “Back Trump in 2024, end the 70k abortions a year in Florida, audit Florida, ban the machines, repeal red flag gun confiscation, pass constitutional carry, pass the monument protection act,” Senator Rogers advised. She further noted, “Florida did no audits. Florida still has fraud machines. There is no plan to do an audit or get rid of the fraud machines.”
Senator Rogers also tweeted, “All @GovRonDeSantis has to do is say ‘I will back Trump in 2024 and will not run against him'”.
