Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) slammed the FBI’s raid at 45th President Donald Trump’s home in Mar-a-Lago Monday in a statement, saying the invasion “is another escalation in the weaponization of federal agencies against the Regime’s political opponents.”
Trump was in New York City when the raid was carried out. An FBI source confirmed that FBI agents from Washington, D.C. who are on the bureau’s Evidence Response Team conducted the raid and notified the Miami Field Office just before, Fox News reported.
“The raid of MAL is another escalation in the weaponization of federal agencies against the Regime’s political opponents, while people like Hunter Biden get treated with kid gloves,” Governor DeSantis wrote on Twitter.
“Now the Regime is getting another 87k IRS agents to wield against its adversaries? Banana Republic,” he said.
Senate Democrats last week blocked Senator Ted Cruz’s (R-TX) amendment to the Schumer-Manchin Tax-and-Spend Bill to strike the $80 billion dollar slush fund to prevent the hiring of 87,000 new IRS agents.
DeSantis’ comments surfaced following Trump’s statement on Monday evening that his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida had been raided by the FBI.
