Conservative actor James Woods weighed in on why he thinks COVID-19 “deserves” to be called the “Chinese Coronavirus” on Wednesday.
Woods made the assessment in wake of President Trump facing backlash from the media over repeatedly referring to the virus as the “Chinese Virus” because “it comes from China” and he wants to “be accurate.”

Trump has also indicated that he shifted to using the term “Chinese Virus” to help counteract a conspiracy theory being told by a Chinese official that suggests the U.S. military may have brought the coronavirus to China.
While the President and White House have given their own explanation behind using the phrase, James Woods revealed why he thinks the term is completely acceptable.
Woods tweeted, “If the coronavirus originated in Wuhan, China, and if it was born of appalling hygiene conditions within unregulated live animal markets, and if the Chinese government suppressed the truth of its dangers, well then, it damn well DESERVES to be called the #ChineseCoronaVirus.” Video Below

Mr. Woods backed up his assessment by tweeting out a chart that shows how different diseases were named based on where they originated.

He then followed up by tweeting out a poll that asked the public what they thought would be an appropriate name for the coronavirus, and promised to call it by whatever name wins.
We’ll update this article with the final results, but so far, “Wuhan Coronavirus” is leading as of 8:45 EST with well over 130,000 votes.
So, I am a believer in proven facts and sound science. We know where this virus originated and have a fairly clear idea of how. With the knowledge we have, what should we call this virus? I will henceforth call it by the name that wins the poll:

Also on Wednesday, the White House issued a statement, where they stood by using the phrase “Chinese Coronavirus”.
“Spanish Flu. West Nile Virus. Zika. Ebola. All named for places,” the White House tweeted. “Before the media’s fake outrage, even CNN called it ‘Chinese Coronavirus.'”
“Those trying to divide us must stop rooting for America to fail and give Americans real info they need to get through the crisis,” the White House concluded.

In ending, here are instances where the mainstream media has referred to to COVID-19 as the “Chinese coronavirus”, the “Wuhan coronavirus” or “China’s coronavirus”:
A new Chinese coronavirus, a cousin of the SARS virus, has infected more than 200 people since the outbreak began in Wuhan, China, in December. Scientist Leo Poon, who first decoded the virus, thinks it likely started in an animal and spread to humans. https://t.co/mnZKFC5ZDW

Liberal media pundits want you to think referring to the coronavirus as the "Wuhan" or "Chinese" virus is racist.
