Biden Tells Anderson Cooper He’s Been to the Southern Border ‘Before’, Instantly Gets Fact-Checked

Joe Biden got fact-checked immediately after claiming that he has visited the southern border while taking questions at a townhall hosted by CNN on Thursday.

“Do you have plans to visit the southern border?” Anderson Cooper asked Biden.

Biden replied, “Well, I’ve been there before, and I haven’t… I mean, I know it well. I guess I should go down. But the whole point of it is I haven’t had a whole hell of a lot of time to get down.”

Sen. Ted Cruz’s special communications advisor, Steve Guest, called out Biden soon after making the remarks.

“According to Fox News, there is NO EVIDENCE Biden has EVER been to the border as president, VP, Senator, or as a concerned citizen,” Guest tweeted. Video Below

In wake of the growing crisis at the U.S./Mexico border, Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy asked Press Secretary Jen Psaki at a recent press conference: “Has President Biden ever been to the southern border?”

“In his life? … I will have to look back in my history books and check the times he’s been to the southern border,” Psaki replied.

“We have been looking all morning, and we cannot find any records of him visiting the border as president, vice president, senator, or even as a concerned citizen,” Doocy fired back. “Why would that be?”
