On Thursday, Senator Lindsey Graham ripped House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s threat of delaying to send articles of impeachment to the Senate.
Pelosi made the suggestion at a press conference after the House passed two articles of impeachment against President Trump, when she refused to tell reporters when and whether she would send articles to the Senate.
“We can’t name managers until we see what the process is on the Senate side and I would hope that would be soon. So far, we haven’t seen anything that looks fair to us,” Pelosi told reporters.
After learning of Pelosi’s remarks, Senator Lindsey Graham released a statement via Twitter, where he slammed the prospects of Pelosi not sending articles of impeachment to the Senate.
“If House Dems refuse to send Articles of Impeachment to the Senate for trial it would be a breathtaking violation of the Constitution, an act of political cowardice, and fundamentally unfair to President @realdonaldTrump,” Graham tweeted.
“Not allowing the Senate to act on approved Articles of Impeachment becomes Constitutional extortion and creates chaos for the presidency,” he continued. “It also sets in motion a tremendous threat to our Constitutional system of checks and balances.” Continued Below

“What is driving this crazy idea?” Sen. Graham questioned. “Democrats have finally realized they have a very WEAK case which NEVER should have been brought forward to begin with.”
