In his first campaign speech of 2024, Joe Biden told members of the audience on Friday, “America, as we begin this election year, we must be clear: democracy is on the ballot. Your freedom is on the ballot.”

Fox News contributor Jonathan Turley reacted on ‘The Story’ to Biden’s comments, noting that the Democrat Party is trying to remove former President Donald Trump from the ballot.

Johnathan Turley responded, “[Biden] talks about democracy being on the ballot, but the ballot is not very democratic. His own party is trying to strip ballots — of Donald Trump’s name — to prevent people, who want to vote for people, who appear to be the leading candidate for [the] presidency from doing that.”

“So when he’s talking about the freedom to vote and have your vote count, his party is actively trying to prevent that. … It’s also worth noting, the Biden administration … is the most anti-free speech administration, since the administration of John Adams,” he added.

Dozens of challenges to Trump’s eligibility under the 14th Amendment have been filed nationwide, though many cases have been rejected by lower courts.

But two states — Colorado and Maine — last month took the extraordinary step of removing Trump from the primary ballot.

Leo Terrell, during the segment, pointed out that Biden “did not talk about his record for the last three years”.
