45th President Donald J. Trump announced he will “be making a statement” Friday evening “at Mar-a-Lago, 8:30 P.M” over the “Never Ending Witch Hunt” following Attorney General Merrick Garland appointing former Justice Department official Jack Smith as special counsel to investigate alleged classified documents Trump took with him to Mar-a-Lago and over whether he obstructed the federal government’s investigation into the matter.

Smith is also tasked with overseeing the investigation into whether Trump or other officials and entities interfered with the peaceful transfer of power following the 2020 presidential election, including the certification of the Electoral College vote on Jan. 6, 2021.

President Donald Trump fired back at Garland’s move, calling it “disgraceful”, while also informing Americans he’ll be “making a statement tonight”.

“Here we go again! I thought that the Unselect Committee on January 6th was a dead issue, especially with the record setting loss off Liz Chaney in the Great State of Wyoming, and likewise felt that the document hoax case, after reviewing the Clinton Socks Case & the Presidential Record Act, was dead, or at least dying fast,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“The Democrat Department of ‘Justice’ had nothing, except Trump haters, so they just appointed a Special Prosecutor to go after me further. Disgraceful! he expressed.

“I’ll be making a statement on the never ending Witch Hunt tonight at Mar-a-Lago, 8:30 P.M. Thank you! he further announced, presumably Eastern Standard Time.

“Based on recent developments, including Trump’s announcement that he is a candidate for president in the next election, and the current president’s intention to be a candidate in the next election, I have concluded it is in the public interest to appoint a special counsel,” Garland said one day after the House Republicans revealed they will be investigating Joe Biden.
