45th President Donald J. Trump on Tuesday accused the “fake news media” of “refusing to report” that he “was the one” who approved a plan in December 2017 to send Javelin anti-tank missile systems to Ukraine to help the U.S.-backed government there fight Russian-allied forces.

Last summer, the Biden administration temporarily halted a military aid package to Ukraine that would have included lethal weapons, a plan originally made by the Trump administration.

“The Fake News Media refuses to report that I was the one who very early and strongly gave the anti-tank busters (Javelins) to Ukraine, while Obama/Biden was giving blankets, to great and open complaints,” the 45th President said in an email statement from his “Save America” PAC.

Trump was referring to when the Obama administration refused to provide lethal assistance to Ukraine.

“Then Biden came in, and canceled the remaining military equipment that was packed, loaded, and ready to be shipped,” the 45th President said, referring to the halted military aid package to Ukraine.

“Now the Fake News Media is trying to say that Trump gave Ukraine nothing and it was Biden who is their great friend and gave them weaponry. The dishonesty is so unbelievable. All I can do is report it!” Trump added, appearing to refer to news publications who have focused on reporting over when Trump was impeached by the Democrat-led House over his phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenksky, which he was ultimately acquitted in the Senate.

Trump’s spokesperson, Liz Harrington, tweeted a screenshot of the 45th President’s email statement:
