On Wednesday, CNN’s Jake Tapper questioned whether or not Congressman Brian Mast cares about democracy in America after he voted against impeaching President Donald Trump on Wednesday.
Rep. Mast — who lost both of his legs while fighting for America abroad before running for public office — was one of 197 House Republicans who opposed Democrats’ second impeachment of Trump, which comes just days before the President’s term expires.
Jake Tapper stated as follows: “Congressman Brian Mast, a Republican from Florida — who lost his legs, by the way, fighting for democracy abroad — although I don’t know about his committment to it here in the United States…”

Rep. Mast hit Tapper with a reality check upon learning of his remarks.
“I lost two legs for @jaketapper’s right to say whatever the hell he wants, but that free speech also protects the Republicans he is so eager to condemn for asking Constitutional questions about the election,” Rep. Mast tweeted. See Below

In ending, here are some of the most highly engaged reactions to Jake Tapper’s remarks:
.@jaketapper isn’t worth the ground beneath you @RepBrianMast – you, like my husband, and all the veterans who’ve sacrificed so much blood are true heroes. These leftists elitists insults expose their true nature – they have no concept of sacrifice https://t.co/zrEx2DmLu6

This might be the most vile thing ever said on cable news.
Tapper was CNN’s last hope and he turned out to be the absolute worst. https://t.co/ePR1gXaUh1

Paging @ATT CEO John Stankey. Do you have anything to say to the millions of AT&T customers that are disgusted by @jaketapper’s attacks on Brian Mast? Will Tapper be disciplined or are you going to let this slide? https://t.co/HGNu5aDL4t
