Hunter Biden, on Wednesday, made a surprise appearance at a markup of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee before lawmakers were set to approve a resolution to hold Joe Biden’s son in contempt of Congress for defying a subpoena last month.
Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) asked during the committee “who bribed Hunter Biden to be here,” criticizing Biden’s surprise appearance.
Biden walked into the hearing with his attorney, Abbe Lowell, and Kevin Morris, an associate and entertainment lawyer who is scheduled to appear before the House Judiciary Committee for a deposition next week.
“You are the epitome of white privilege — coming into the Oversight Committee, spitting in our face, ignoring a congressional subpoena to be deposed. What are you afraid of? You have no balls to come up here,” Rep. Mace said to Hunter Biden.
“I think that Hunter Biden should be arrested right here, right now, and go straight to jail,” she added.
Biden and Lowell, however, exited the hearing room minutes later, just as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) was beginning to speak.

It’s no secret that Hunter Biden is using his privilege to evade any sense of accountability. He showed up in the People’s House as a PR stunt.
It’s horrendous that my colleagues on the other side of the aisle are standing him as he spits in the face of the American people.

The House Oversight and Judiciary panels are moving to hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress after he failed to appear for a closed-door deposition last month as part of their impeachment inquiry into his father, Joe Biden.
