American actor James Woods weighed in amid reports alleging that Joe Biden is intentionally avoiding Oval Office speeches due to lack of a teleprompter. The report comes as data compiled by The American Presidency Project shows that Biden held far less news conferences in his first year than every one of his predecessers dating back to George H.W. Bush.
“The White House has largely abandoned using the Oval Office for press events in part because it can’t be permanently equipped with a teleprompter,” according to a recent Politico article.

Biden’s hesitancy to deliver speeches without the teleprompter has been remedied by constructing a studio specifically for accommodating the president’s crutch.
“Biden aides prefer the fake White House stage built in the Old Executive Office Building next door for events, sacrificing some of the power of the historic backdrop in favor of an otherwise sterile room that was outfitted with an easily read teleprompter screen,” the report added.
Biden’s reported trouble delivering speeches without prompts comes as polling shows Americans are worried about Biden’s mental ability to lead the nation.
Sixty percent want transparency about Biden’s mental health via a publicly disclosed cognitive test. Fifty-three percent of voters have “doubts” about Biden’s mental ability. Sixty-two percent said Biden is not fit to be president because he is too old.
