During an event at the White House celebrating the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act on Wednesday, 79-year-old Joe Biden discussed “a new civil rights cause of action” apparently aimed at combatting blackmail photos online.
In his remarks, the Democrat career politician said the new civil cause of action is “for those whose intimate images are shared on the public screen.”
“How many times have you heard — I bet everybody knows somebody somewhere along the line that in an intimate relationship — what happened was the guy takes a revealing picture of his naked friend, or whatever, in a compromising position and then, literally, in a sense, blackmails her or mortifies … send it out, put it online.”
