House Speaker Nancy Pelosi now claims that her “purpose” is “the children.”
The Democrat representative from San Francisco made the odd assertion while participating in a panel discussion at the Munich Security Conference.
Pelosi stated as follows:
In terms of elections and what is… supports a democracy, I don’t think any of us over time [who] ran for Congress ever had the idea that we were running for Congress and we needed to win because it would save democracy.
We had our points of view about the government and my purpose is children. You heard me say, “Take a punch for the children. Throw a punch for the children.” But you have enough confidence in what you believe, enough humility to listen to and respect other people’s views. That was how we think about democracy.
