Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) is threatening legal action after his administration says that the federal government sent 70 planes carrying immigrants to Jacksonville from the U.S./Mexico border region under cover of darkness this summer.
At a news conference on Wednesday, DeSantis said that his office is looking at all legal avenues Florida can peruse after going public with their allegation this weekend.
“We’re going to get together and figure out what we can do in the immediate term to protect folks in Florida,” DeSantis told reporters on Wednesday.
The Florida governor, however, acknowledged his options are limited because the federal government exercises control over airspace and immigration. But, he said, “if they’re not doing that, then clearly the state should be able to come in and provide protections, and so, that’s what we’re going to be looking to do.”
DeSantis also recommended that the Sunshine State provide bus tickets to send the illegal immigrants to Joe Biden’s home state of Delaware.
“If they’re going to come here, we’ll provide buses and provide them,” DeSantis said, adding, “I will send them to Delaware and do that. I mean, if [Biden’s] not going to support the border being secure, then he should be able to have everyone there. Video Below
