Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) slammed “Antifa scumbags” on Twitter Monday night, who arrived at his Washington, D.C., house and threatened his wife and newborn daughter while he was at his home state of Missouri.
“Tonight while I was in Missouri, Antifa scumbags came to our place in DC and threatened my wife and newborn daughter, who can’t travel. They screamed threats, vandalized, and tried to pound open our door. Let me be clear: My family & I will not be intimidated by leftwing violence”, Senator Hawley wrote.

Mike DeBonis, a reporter from The Washington Post, tweeted that the group involved was ShutDownDC, which defines itself as “an organizing space where individuals and groups can come together to organize direct action in the fight for justice.”
The group called the visit to Hawley’s home an “hour long vigil” to demand that “he drop his baseless contestation of the 2020 presidential election results.”
Senator Hawley responded to DeBonis’ tweet, writing, “Now ‘vigil’ means screaming threats through bullhorns, vandalizing property, pounding on the doors of homes and terrorizing innocent people and children”. Video Below

Bulls**t!
This was no candlelight vigil, this was an attempt to terrorize @HawleyMO’s family, his wife & kids, and neighbors, you made that very clear.
This is what those leftist socialist anarchists want to do to this country, tomorrow Georgia gets a chance to reject them! https://t.co/9SQxe6bHlG pic.twitter.com/MBTsBRIeSf

And didn’t have the guts to do it in daylight, but only under cover of darkness so you could hide. You’re scum. And we won’t be intimidated

Senator Hawley was the first Republican senator to announce that he plans to raise objections when Congress meets for a joint-session meeting Wednesday for the final certification of the 2020 presidential election.
Meanwhile, Newmax’s Greg Kelly weighed in, wondering if “The jerk with the bullhorn … at least get a ticket for disturbing the peace?”
The Jerk with the BULLHORN and his friends are HASSLING @HawleyMO’s FAMILY—his wife and children. Shouldn’t that guy at least get a Ticket for Disturbing the Peace? That USED to be against the Law! pic.twitter.com/s7Hz1IdKby
