Former acting director of national intelligence Richard Grenell took to Twitter Sunday to announce that he “chatted” with President Donald Trump “this morning”, and one subject they spoke about was the smash-hit song “YMCA” by The Village People, which the Commander in Chief is famously seen dancing to at the end of his rallies.
The Village People have said they are OK with Trump’s use of their songs. “Since our music is not being used for a specific endorsement, the President’s use is “perfect(ly)” legal,” they wrote on Facebook in February. “Like millions of Village People fans worldwide, the President and his supporters have shown a genuine like for our music. Our music is all-inclusive and certainly everyone is entitled to do the YMCA dance, regardless of their political affiliation,” AP reported.
“I just spoke to [President] Donald Trump this morning – and one issue we chatted about was this song YMCA,” Richard Grenell wrote on Twitter Sunday.
“He says he can’t help but dance a little to it. He loves it,” Grenell revealed. “It was a huge hit with the Wisconsin crowd last night, too.”
Grenell attached a video of the president dancing to YMCA from a rally in Ohio on Saturday, which was posted on Twitter Sunday morning by Dan Scavino, White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications and Director of Social Media. “Preparing to depart the White House for New Hampshire — in the meantime, enjoy some YMCA from Ohio last night!” Scavino wrote.
On Sunday, the president held a rally in Manchester, New Hampshire and was seen again dancing to YMCA after the rally wrapped up. Video Below
