Kamala Harris, the politically shrewd California senator with a law enforcement background that has caused some tensions with the progressive left, was announced Tuesday as Joe Biden’s running mate, Fox News reported.

Following the announcement, The New York Times described Harris as being a “pragmatic moderate.”

“Breaking News: Sen. Kamala Harris of California is Joe Biden’s pick for vice president. A pragmatic moderate, she is the first Black woman on a major party ticket,” The New York Times claimed.

Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR), Harris’ colleague, slammed the Times, asking, “Pragmatic moderate?”

“Kamala Harris supports Medicare for All and she laughed at the idea that the Constitution would prevent her from confiscating guns. More fake news from the New York Times,” Cotton wrote.

Former Bush White House press secretary and Fox News contributor Ari Fleischer reacted as well, saying, “Harris a fake, empty-suit. She accused Biden of being a segregationist, but then agrees to run with him. Either she faked her allegation against Biden, or she’s faking now. She faked her position in favor of Medicare for all, until it became unpopular. Then she opposed it.” Continued Below
