CNN correspondent Leyla Santiago reported that President Trump will be visiting Mount Rushmore Friday, “where he’ll be standing in front of a monument of two slave owners and on land, wrestled away from Native Americans– told that …. be focusing on the effort ‘to tear down our country’s history'”.

Flashback to 2008: CNN’s Rob Marciano called Mount Rushmore “quite a sight”, former CNN reporter Betty Nguyen called the monument “majestic”, and CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta said Mount Rushmore is a “fitting campaign stop for a presidential contender” when former President Barack Hussein Obama had visited the site. Obama had campaign events in South Dakota and the Black Hills during the 2008 campaign and paid a visit to Mount Rushmore.
