Wednesday on CNN’s airing of “Cuomo PrimeTime”, host Chris Cuomo interviewed his brother, Andrew Cuomo, after the Democratic New York governor was administered a coronavirus test earlier in the day, during his press conference.

Instead of focusing on his brother’s mishandling of the outbreak in his state or why he sent COVID-19 patients back to nursing homes, Chris Cuomo pulled out oversized cotton swabs, appearing to mock his brother’s nose size.

Chris Cuomo played a video clip of Gov. Cuomo being administered a coronavirus test, which showed a cotton swab that was inserted into his nose.

“Now, a few questions about this process,” the CNN host said. “First of all, is it true that when you are having the test administered, you inhaled and the doctor’s finger went all the way up your nose and got stuck and it had to be released with a tool? Is that true? Just to deal with the record?”

Gov. Cuomo responded: “No, she wanted to comment that I have a little button nose, and she was afraid that the swab would actually hurt because it extended my nasal cavity.”

Chris Cuomo proceeded to pull out a cotton swab, then said, “This is the normal swab I’m holding up here now for everybody at home. A very valuable object. There’s only one company in the entire country that makes these up in Maine. All right?” Continued Below

The CNN host continued by pulling out oversized cotton swabs, asking, “Is it true that this was the swab that the nurse was actually using on you and that at first it went into your nose and disappeared, so, that in scale– this was the actual swab that was being used to fit up that double-barrel shotgun that you have mounted on the front of your pretty face?”

While trying to hold back laughter, Gov. Cuomo responded, “See, I said I was going to be nice and sweet and cooperative”.

“I just want a yes, no. Was it this, or was it this? Look, which was it?” Chris Cuomo asked, holding up different oversized cotton swabs. Continued Below

Nicholas Fondacaro, a news analyst for MRC and News Busters posted a clip on Twitter of the interaction between the Cuomo brothers and called the interaction “pathetic”.

Fondacaro wrote with the attached clip: “Instead of asking his brother, @NYGovCuomo why he decided to pack COVID patients into nursing homes, killing untold amounts of people, @ChrisCuomo pulled out oversized, prop cotton swabs to mock how big his brother’s nose was. This is the state of “journalism” on @CNN. Pathetic!”

CNN political commentator, Ana Navarro responded to Fondacro and tweeted: “For months, @CNN has carried almost 24/7 sobering Covid-news. A few minutes of friendly bantering b/w 2 brothers w/high-profile, high-stress jobs, is not supposed to be journalism. It’s called humor. It is a coping mechanism for some of us. Simple. If it offends you, don’t watch.”

Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly chimed in, slamming the Cuomo brothers and Navarro writing, “Some ppl who lost loved ones, thanks to Cuomo’s deadly nursing home policy, don’t appreciate him mucking it up in front of millions, while they can’t even properly bury their family members.”

“Maybe, as the man who caused their pain, he can save the humor for behind closed doors,” she suggested. Video Below
