On Friday, former NFL player tight end Mark Campbell touted the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine that President Trump has been criticized for promoting to help treat the coronavirus.

Campbell, who recently won his battle against COVID-19, was sharing his story with CNN when he said hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) “worked great” for him when he was “struggling to breathe.”

“I was laboring to breathe,” Campbell said. “And I felt like that couldn’t just get oxygen relief. So I couldn’t just breath in and out, right. I just feel like I just couldn’t get any relief that I was looking for.”

“And I got checked into the hospital for five days and went through that process there,” he continued. Fortunately for me, they put me on some meds and the HCQ worked great for me — I will be honest with you there.”

“And now I’m back in fourteen,” he concluded with a smile on his face. Video Below
