President Trump is currently reaping the benefits of the strong economy he has built since taking office, as 70% of American voters are giving him a thumbs up on his handling of it, according to a new Quinnipiac poll.
On Monday, however, former President Barack Obama suggested Trump didn’t build that, and instead, he tried to take credit for the soaring economic numbers and overall job growth that the country is now embracing.
Obama said it’s his 11-year old Recovery Act that is “paving the way” for the economic successes of our time, discounting President Trump’s policies.
Obama tweeted: “Eleven years ago today, near the bottom of the worst recession in generations, I signed the Recovery Act, paving the way for more than a decade of economic growth and the longest streak of job creation in American history.”
After catching wind of Obama’s statement, conservative actor James Woods issued a bold reality check for the former Commander-In-Chief. Video Below
Woods tweeted, “The notion that you did anything but destroy this nation’s economy is beyond hilarious.”
He then quoted Obama’s “magic wand” jab at Trump that came during the 2016 election cycle.
“’Those jobs are never coming back. What’s he going to do, wave a magic wand?'” Yes, @realDonaldTrump did exactly that,” Woods declared. “Your only sad legacy was your blatant lies about ObamaCare.” Video Below
