Democrat impeachment manager Rep. Adam Schiff got blasted on Wednesday after saying that he doesn’t know who the whistleblower is, while speaking at the Senate impeachment trial.

Schiff made the claim after he was asked about the alleged relationship between his staff and the whistleblower, who ignited the Democrat-led impeachment effort against President Trump.

“Let me be clear about several things about the whistleblower,” Schiff said. “First of all, I don’t know who the whistleblower is. I haven’t met them or communicated with them in any way.”

House Republican Lee Zeldin, Donald Trump Jr., Rep. Elise Stefanik and others unloaded on social media after seeing Schiff deny knowing the whistleblower.

“There’s a ZERO percent chance Adam Schiff doesn’t know the identity of the whistleblower,” Rep. Zeldin tweeted. “How does he lie so easily? It’s really quite remarkable. He’s prosecuting the Pres of the United States in front of the Chief Justice & these lies just keep flowing right out of his mouth.” See Below

In his reaction, Donald Trump Jr. referenced earlier remarks made by Senator Elizabeth Warren, who vowed to “fight disinformation” against political opponents.

Trump Jr. tweeted, “Elizabeth Warren should arrest Schiff for spreading fake news.”

Congresswoman Elise Stefanik responded to Schiff’s claim by saying, “Stunning that Adam Schiff lies to millions of Americans when he says he doesn’t know the identity of the whistleblower.”

She continued, “He absolutely knows the identity of the whistleblower b/c he coordinated with the individual before the whistleblower’s complaint! His staff helped write it!”
